BROADCAST TEMPLATES

GRAPHIC DESIGN - ROSS XPRESSION - MOTION GRAPHICS

My work in broadcast design includes both visual design and programming. I create thematically cohesive graphics to compliment each show and broadcast and set them up in Ross Xpression or send elements to producers working in Chyron and Sony.

In Ross Xpression, I have designed, set up and programmed templates using both visual logic and Visual Basic programming. I have also implemented live data feeds like RSS, external Excel Sheet data feeds, live timer and countdown widgets and list-based image selection. All these features lead to user-friendly templates for producers and directors.

This was used in-game and post-game implementing live data feeds from an online gaming platform. The Ross Xpression template was automated through the live data, and so needed to be versatile and reactive, with text boxes adjusting size and placement with minimal manual adjustment.

PREDICT THE GAME

Templates are organized to optimize and simplify the user experience.

The Xpression template project for the Boston Red Sox included a variety of graphic elements, from information fullpages, side slabs and tombstones, animated lower thirds, countdown bugs and monitor inserts. Versatility is key and I created a system of functionality that allowed for ease of use across shows for producers.

I assisted in developing a logo selection process through a combination of static text selection, visual logic and visual basic programming.

BOSTON RED SOX

Visual elements are re-used throughout the project to create visual cohesion. Logic and functionality also is mirrored for ease of use.
